BUYING A HOME: LET’S TALK ABOUT THAT

You’ve decided it’s time to take that next step; you want to be a homeowner! Or maybe you’ve owned a home before, and you now need more space; or less. I’ll make sure that from the moment we start working together, that we do what's right for you.

We’ll have a consultation to go over what you’re looking for in your next home, what kind of space are you looking for, and what you need to be able to call somewhere home.

You’ll make informed decisions.

We’ll go over all the pros and cons of what you’re interested in, and I'll utilize my local market knowledge and transaction expertise to make the right decisions for you and your family for getting you into your dream home.

As a veteran having made many moves myself, life has taught me a lot about real estate transactions and the trials and tribulations that accompany those moves! Additionally, my knowledge and experience as a REALTOR® by helping other people buy their first home, move across town, relocate across the country, relocate with the military, or find that perfect second home are at your disposal.

From the first steps to the closing table, I’ve got you covered!

  • Buying: first steps

  • RESEARCH EXPENSES: Carefully research and budget what's attainable for your household and begin to save for a down payment. While most institutions will say 20% is required, it isn't! Other alternatives like FHA loans may work better for you.

  • GETTING PRE-APPROVED: Getting pre-approved is important; it not only shows that you as a buyer are serious, but sets a limit of what you can afford, and what your monthly payment would be. A mortgage lender can help you with this - no one wants to fall in love with a home only to find out you can't afford it! As your agent, I can get you in touch with a preferred local lender or a more specialized lender; such as a VA loan specialist.

  • HIRE AN AGENT: When working with a real estate agent, you as a client are privileged to more than you would be as a customer. (The difference being a client signs a Buyer Agency Agreement, customers don't.) Having a Buyer Agency Agreement lets the agent fight for you, negotiate for you, and more!

  • WHAT DO YOU WANT VS. WHAT DO YOU NEED: Now that you've been pre-approved and found an agent, it's time to think - what do you want in your house? What do you need in your house? When house hunting, you may not be able to have it all - what's essential to you? List it out as Wants vs. Needs, so your agent can tailor to what you're looking for!

  • GO HOUSE HUNTING!: Now the fun part! After you've figured out wants vs needs, you and your agent can begin the search to find you your perfect home!
